Our Story

10.26.21

Sara and Aaron met the old fashioned way, on a dating app. It's a miracle that they matched because Sara set her account to filter out men under 6 feet tall. Thankfully, Aaron lied on his profile (he's only 5'11) and she agreed to meet for drinks. After they connected on the app, they met at Tryst Coffee House for their first date. The food there is sub-par on a good day, but the vibes are immaculate. Sara had four old fashions (oops) while Aaron ordered a hummus plate - of which Sara ate more than her agreed upon half. After four hours at their table, they quickly made plans for date #2: takeout and an at-home screening of Wicker Man, staring Nicolas Cage. In the opening scene, a mother and her child get hit by a bus - a moment that sent Sara into a fit of hysterical laughter. That's when Aaron knew "she was a keeper." Date #3 was at RPM, an upscale Italian restaurant downtown. This is an important moment in their relationship because when Aaron opened Sara's car door, that's the moment Sara knew he was the one. From that moment on, wedding planning had officially begun.

The Proposal

1.17.24

Desperate for a warm getaway, Aaron slyly suggested they travel to Puerto Rico. Initially suspicious, Sara was successfully thrown off the scent when Aaron deliberately asked about engagement rings for the VERY FIRST TIME a week before the trip. "There's no way this dummy will have a ring in time for the trip," she thought. Meanwhile, Aaron had had the ring for MONTHS. On the final night of the trip, Sara and Aaron went out for a sushi dinner on the resort's campus. And after dinner, they went for a stroll. As they approached the moonlit marble gazebo, Sara couldn't help but notice the hotel staffer that Aaron had hired to be their photographer for the big moment. "Who's that weirdo hotel staff taking pictures at night?" she asked. Quick on his feet, Aaron replied "They must be taking pictures for the hotel website." Sara totally bought it. As Aaron began his beautifully composed proposal speech, Sara became enraged. "Omg," she thought, "I'm traumatized. This sounds like a proposal and I know that he's not going to propose. I will never recover from this." Next thing she knew, Aaron was down on one knee. Through tears, Sara gleefully accepted his proposal. Tequila shots were then had by all.
